BTSC hosted the Newmarket Stingrays, Whitby Swimming, the Uxbridge Swim Club and The North York Aquatic Club at our last home meet of the season, Spring Off the Blocks 2024. Barrie Trojans took to the Wayne Gretzky Centre in Brantford at the BAC LC Invitational meet on Apr 19-21. BTSC was in competition with 8 other clubs and there were 30 swimmers wearing the green Trojan caps. Check out the highlights below. It was fantastic to see a team of Barrie Trojan Masters swimmers participate in the 2024 Masters Ontario Provincials at the Etobicoke Olympium on Apr 19-21. The meet welcomed all levels of competitors and included former Olympians, National level athletes, World, National and Provincial record holders. The Barrie Trojan Swim Club was one of 89 clubs participating at the inaugural Canadian Swimming Open on April 10 -13. Ten athletes proudly represented our Club and shared the pool with some very high profile names: Avery Knight, Julia Denes, Sydney Colquhoun, Taira Vroom, Laila Oravsky, William Debroux, Jordi Vilchez, Baris Kartoglu, Adriana Martone and Lucian Vilchez. Hello! The BTCS Fundraising Committee is excited to announce the Trojans Swimathon, happening from April 24 to May 24, 2025. During these four weeks, our goal is to collectively swim 17,000 kilometers and raise $17,000 for the Barrie Trojan Swim Club. Barrie Trojan swimmers took to the Victor Davis pool in Guelph Mar. 21- 24 at the GMAC March LC Invitational meet. BTSC sent a team of 62 athletes competing against 10 other clubs. BTSC swimmers were at or near the front of many races over the weekend. In total there were 76 top 3 finishes for BTSC girls and 40 for boys. The (PEPS) de l’Université Laval was the site of the Speedo Eastern Canadian Championships that took place from Mar. 21 - Mar. 24. There were 104 clubs hailing from the eastern half of Canada represented. The BTSC sent 16 athletes to compete at these championships and as a team they finished 5th overall, a fantastic result! The Barrie Trojans were host to the Pentathlon swim meet Mar. 1 - 3, 2024. This is a fun and unique event where swimmers compete in groups of five events (sprint, mid-distance, ironman) where total times for each athlete are calculated with the swimmer achieving the lowest cumulative time is declared the winner for each age category. Amazingly, after swimming more than 43 minutes total, one of the ironman age groups was decided by 5 seconds. The Ontario Swimming Championships took place at the Toronto Pan Am Centre from Feb. 29 - Mar. 3. BTSC qualified a contingent of 25 swimmers, a record number for our Club.
